Grok Bot: AI “Coworkers” You Can Hand Work To
Translated by a model; the original is in Russian.
SpaceXAI, Elon Musk's AI division, has launched Grok Bot — a service of always-on AI agents billed as autonomous “AI coworkers” that do work on the user's behalf. The bots operate in their own cloud computing environment and can sign in to the apps, tools and sites you already use in order to see multi-step work tasks through to the end. They come back only when a task is complete or when your approval is needed.
That convenience does come at the price of trust, though: for all of this to work, you have to let Grok log in to your accounts.
An Answer to the Competition
Grok Bot is an attempt to keep pace with similar business services from rivals: OpenAI's ChatGPT Work, Anthropic's Claude Cowork and Microsoft's Copilot Tasks. According to SpaceXAI, the product grew out of an internal prototype that the company was already using itself for sales, marketing, office operations and bug fixing.
Amusingly, the company can't even keep its own naming consistent — sometimes Grok Bot, sometimes the plural Bots.
How It Works
Assigning tasks is simple: you can message the bot “like a coworker” from your phone or computer, without setting up scripts and workflows in advance. Several bots can work in parallel, and one of them can manage the rest, doling out specialized assignments among them. The agents, the developer claims, can “message one another on their own,” sharing context on overlapping projects, and can also work in a shared group chat, coordinating the work and assigning owners themselves.
The bots learn your habitual workflows and retain context on how you tackle tasks — down to trying to reproduce your personal writing style. On top of that, they can return to abandoned conversations, pick up matters from old threads, and grow more proactive over time: as SpaceXAI promises, they will “take on work before you even ask, and know when something needs your attention.”
Availability
Grok Bot is available in beta starting today — on desktop and iOS for subscribers to SuperGrok Heavy, Cursor Ultra and Cursor Teams Premium. Teams and enterprise users are invited to join a waitlist.
