The Manjaro project has released a new feature version of its distribution — Manjaro 26.1 Bian-May. It is the first major release since Manjaro 26.0 arrived in January, and it ships with a host of updated packages.

The main changes concern the desktop environments the user interacts with directly. The distribution now offers GNOME 50 and KDE Plasma 6.7. For those who prefer a lighter environment, Xfce 4.20 is available as well.

By default, Manjaro 26.1 runs on the stable Linux 7.1 kernel. That said, there is still a choice for those who value long-term support: the LTS kernels Linux 6.18 and Linux 6.12 are available.

Manjaro is still built on top of Arch Linux, inheriting its rolling-release model with periodic tagged releases. More detailed information about the release can be found on the Manjaro.org forums.
