Meta is developing smart glasses that continuously record audio and photos

Meta could become the next major company to release a wearable device with an always-on AI. According to the Financial Times, the company is developing a prototype of smart glasses with a “super sensing” feature that can continuously record sound and take photos every few seconds.
How it's supposed to work
As described, the glasses will constantly capture what's happening around the user — both audio and visual information. The owner will be able to ask the Meta AI voice assistant questions about what the device has recorded or photographed.
Details on exactly how the images will be processed and stored remain unclear for now.
Context
The idea of devices with continuous recording and built-in AI is nothing new: similar concepts have been discussed in connection with other wearable gadgets, but they have yet to gain mass adoption — largely because of concerns about privacy and the social acceptability of constant surveillance.
If the Financial Times' information proves accurate, Meta will have to figure out how to reconcile the functionality of “all-seeing” glasses with the privacy expectations of users and those around them. The company has yet to make any official comment about the project.
