MX Linux 25.3 brings new tools and siduction kernels
Translated by a model; the original is in Russian.
The MX Linux project has released MX Linux 25.3, the latest update in the 25.x series built on Debian's Stable branch. Beyond the security fixes and updated firmware pulled in from its Debian parent, the release carries a number of the team's own changes.
Refreshed tools
The in-house utilities MX-Welcome, MX-Tools and custom-toolbox (used by the Fluxbox edition) have all received user-interface facelifts. A new tool, Verify-iso-sig, lets users check digital signatures not only for MX images but also for ISOs from many popular distribution families. The set also gains MX-Theme-Colors, a small utility for building custom-highlight themes from existing MX themes (GTK).
Kernels and applications
The mx-packageinstaller section (popular apps → kernels) now offers siduction 7.X kernels. The third-party VPN installers in the same section have been updated as well. On new installations, the mx/gazelle-installer now sets lazytime in fstab by default.
The manual and FAQ entries have been refreshed too, and most MX tools received translation updates. The release rolls up every bugfix, maintenance and feature change accumulated since the last official version.
The update arrives through the regular channel, so existing users do not need to reinstall. Downloads are available as Xfce (2,792 MB), Xfce AHS with advanced hardware support (3,041 MB) and KDE (3,478 MB) images.
As a reminder, MX Linux is a desktop-oriented distribution based on Debian's Stable branch and developed jointly by the antiX and former MEPIS communities. Xfce is the default desktop, with separate KDE Plasma and Fluxbox editions also available.
