TUXEDO Computers to Switch TUXEDO OS from Ubuntu to Debian Testing

German computer maker TUXEDO Computers, which specializes in hardware that ships with Linux preinstalled, has announced a change to the foundation of its own TUXEDO OS distribution.

Until now the system has been built on Ubuntu, but the company has decided to switch to Debian — specifically its Testing branch.

The change affects the TUXEDO OS platform that the company develops and ships on its laptops and desktop computers. The brief announcement gives no details about the timeline for the migration or the technical specifics of the transition.

TUXEDO Computers is a Bavarian manufacturer known for laptops and PCs that come with Linux distributions installed at the factory, along with its own TUXEDO OS environment.
