A userscript that renames the “vibecoding” tag to “llms” on Lobsters
Translated by a model; the original is in Russian.
The Greasy Fork script catalog now hosts a minuscule creation with a self-explanatory name: “Lobsters: rename vibecoding to llms.” Its only job is to make the vibecoding tag on the tech aggregator Lobsters show up as llms instead.
The script is written in JavaScript and credited to a user going by joshka. According to its listing, it was both created and updated on the same day — 23 September 2026. At the time of writing its stats sit at zero: zero daily installs, zero total installs, and not a single rating.
Behind this technical trifle lurks a small quarrel about words. The term “vibecoding” — writing code in a loose, freewheeling style while leaning on large language models for suggestions — has settled into the jargon and even earned its own tag on Lobsters. Someone evidently finds the word too flippant, and rather than argue in the comments, the author reached for an engineering fix: let the tag read however each reader prefers.
Such scripts are an old tradition. Extensions like Greasemonkey and Tampermonkey let you bend other people's sites to your taste: hide sections, rearrange elements, rename whatever bothers you. Usually the target is some annoying bit of interface; here the tool is aimed at the term itself.
Whether the effort will find any user besides its author is an open question. But as a gesture it speaks volumes: sometimes it is easier to rewrite a couple of lines of JavaScript than to talk a community into renaming a tag.
