A Philadelphia woman was arrested for blocking a delivery robot

Philadelphia resident Carolyn Marvin was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after she blocked the path of an Uber delivery robot and refused to step aside.
Speaking to the local station ABC13, Marvin explained her stand: "I know they're taking the jobs of human delivery workers, and so I have been protesting them whenever I saw them by standing in front of them and preventing them from going forward."
Police arrived at the scene and asked her to move out of the robot's way. When she declined, they handcuffed and arrested her. The incident was caught on video and has since drawn considerable media attention.
The delivery robots have become a familiar fixture on the streets of downtown Philadelphia — and have provoked a backlash. This is not even Marvin's first run-in with them. Earlier this year, one was kicked over in Center City.
The episode reflects a broader anxiety about how autonomous systems — robotaxis, delivery robots, and AI agents alike — are reshaping the labor market, especially for lower-skill workers.
